Pesuasion

I found a article written by Caroline Kennedy and it is about the support of Barack Obama as a Presidential candidate. I chose to compare this article to MLK's letter and the army recruiters presentation. Ethos in Kennedy's article could be found easily when she kept going on about all the stories and entertainment she had celebrating her land. MLK establishes his ethos throughout the entire speech, just by the choice of words in which he used and also by how he states how he is a leader. In Kennedy's article she really didn't really have any examples of logos, but while i was reading it she did make some very reasonable and logical announcements which helped her out a good bit. As far as logos goes, i would say that the army recruiters showed many examples of that. They said that you could take out student loans while in college, but if you join the army, the army will pay all that money back to the school which you borrowed from, which means you can pocket all the rest of the money along with paying for your school. Pathos was displayed throughout Kennedy's letter along with MLK's speech. For Caroline Kennedy, she stated many facts using family members, and when you start to include family members, times can start to become very emotional. In MLK's speech he used very strong quotes which have very powerful meanings which can also be very persuasive and emotional at the same time.
